A Family History of High Leather Goods

OSZI — 1954
01

1954

OSZI traces its origins to Hungary and France, in the story of a man who chose freedom at the cost of leaving everything behind. In 1954, when the Hungarian regime demanded his return, he refused. This quiet, absolute refusal, made without a word, says everything about who he was. Oszkár, nicknamed OSZI, meaning “autumn” in Hungarian, carried within him the instinctive elegance of a figure beyond time, borders, and norms.

The women around him possessed the same strength. Together, they built a life rooted in authenticity, a love of beauty, and uncompromising independence.

A century later, their great-grandson pays tribute to them. To them, and to all women like them, those who know their worth, who need to prove nothing, and who recognize in a rare creation the reflection of a life they have chosen.

OSZI was created for them.

I want, I can, I will.

It all begins with a rediscovered photograph. In this image, one detail catches the eye: the sharp shine of Oszkár’s shoes. It’s nothing, and yet it’s everything. Félix then embarks on a solitary journey of discovery. This first encounter with the material sets off something irreversible.

As he learns the craft, he also learns the story. The story of a man who moved forward without looking back, who feared nothing, who never shied away from any difficulty.

As he continues his apprenticeship in leatherwork, his hands give birth to his first piece: a cardholder.

OSZI

From this journey emerged OSZI, a brand to which he entrusts all the values inherited from these figures, and to which he vows to remain faithful. This manifesto bears a name.
